structural functionalism

فارسی

1 علوم اجتماعی و جامعه شناسی:: کارکردگرایی ساختاری

The theoretical framework referred to as structural-functionalism goes back to sociology's origins in the 19th century and was influential in family sociology throughout much of the 20th century. Social institutions, such as the family, are society's body parts, and, according to structural-functionalism, they ensure society's survival by fulfilling specific functions. According to structural-functionalism, when families adequately fulfill these functions, then society as a whole can thrive. The logic of structural-functionalism is also embedded in U.S. laws. Like structural-functionalism, conflict theory is also a foundational framework in sociology, but its focus is different.
